Procedure text is a type of text in English that is used to explain how something is used or how to do or make something.

With this, procedure text basically functions to explain how to do/use/make something through sequential steps so that the reader can achieve his goal.



๐Ÿก ⋆ ๐Ÿฌ  ๐ŸŽ€  ๐’ธ๐’ฝ๐’ถ๐“‡๐’ถ๐’ธ๐“‰๐‘’๐“‡๐’พ๐“ˆ๐“‰๐’พ๐’ธ๐“ˆ  ๐ŸŽ€  ๐Ÿฌ ⋆ ๐Ÿก 

Procedure text has characteristics that distinguish it from other types of text in English. The characteristics of procedure text are:

  • Using Simple Present Tense.
  • Using conjunctions or conjunctions, such as first, second, next, last, and after that.
  • Use imperative sentences that are commands, such as don't add oil, chop the onion, or cut into slices.
  • Use action verbs, such as boil, stir, or turn on.
  • Use adverbs, such as slowly or carefully and adverbs of time, such as boiling water for five minutes

Procedure text has a different generic structure from other types of text, namely:

๐Ÿ’ฅGoal target
It is usually located in the title of the text and is used to indicate the purpose of the text.
Example: How to Make Fried Chicken.

๐Ÿ’ฅMaterials
Contains materials or tools needed in the steps to carry out the process.
Example: the ingredients for making milk tea are black tea, filtered water, and brown sugar.

๐Ÿ’ฅSteps
Contains methods, methods, or steps taken to achieve the objectives in the text.
Example: First, boil water. Then heat the teapot.

Procedure Text must be written using Simple Present Tense, Squad. This is because in the Procedure Text there are fact sentences about the manufacture or use of something.

๐Ÿ’ขCommand Sentences (Imperative Sentences)
Hey, what are some examples of command sentences in Procedure Text, huh? Yep, an example is add 3 onions and mix it well with the dough. Do not forget, yes, the command sentence must begin with a verb (verb). Examples are heat, stir, mix, add, boil, plug in, and so on.

๐Ÿ’ขConnectives
Connectives are used as a liaison between one activity and another, for example first, secondly, then, after that, finally, last, and so on.

๐Ÿ’ขAdverbs (adverbs)
Adverbs are used to give an adverb of time, such as: in 10 minutes, for 1 hour, during the first half hour. In addition, it can also be used to provide information on how to (manner), for example slowly, thoroughly, well, fast, and so on.

Materials and Ingredients
  • 2 spoons of sugar

  • hot water
  • a cup
  • a spoon
Procedure
  1. Prepare two spoons of sugar, a cup, hot water, one spoon of coffee powder, a spoon.
  2. Put one spoon of coffee powder into the cup.
  3. Pour some hot water into the cup.
  4. Add 2 spoons of sugar into a cup of coffee
